I was looking through audio profiles today and came across one which caught my attention. He sounded so hotttttttttt and I must admit, I fell for his voice right away!!! My pulse rate went up, my smile got bigger, and I felt that I wanted to get to know him better!!! But it was so crazy!!! I only heard his voice and I thought he sounded hottttttttttttt!!! However, when I viewed his profile, his description of himself did not appeal to me at all!!! Have any of you had this similar experience before??? Have you ever thought someone sounded appealing because of their voice only to find that their personality and yours clashed???

Yes I have. I also fell for a guy who has a very sexy voice especially when he talks on the phone, but after a while realized he was nothing like I had imagined him to be and we had very little in common. Very disappointing indeed! Star

several times I have fallen completely for a voice and found the owner and I to be incompatible..ahh well.
Well, when I left school I did a telephony course, for no other reason than that I didn’t know what I was going to do with my life, and we were coming back here from south Africa so needed to do something in the six months between me leaving and coming back over here. Anyway, one of the guys who used to call the switchboard had the most gorgeous voice I could ever imagine! Not from a “ooooh he sounds like a guy I’d like to get to know” perspective, more from a “wow he sounds really gorgeous!” angle, but with no other intentions. Anyway one day we were all talking about people and what they were like etc and me, and another girl, both mentioned that we thought this guy sounded absolutely gorgeous! At which point we were reliably informed that he was about 60, bald, and had a massive beer gut! Now of course looks aren’t everything but … grins

Looks don't matter ... no, I wouldn't say that. I would just say looks aren't everything, that#s true. But there are limits.
i've gone to audio profiles before, where the person sounded hot, but then, when i look at their profile, ummmm...lets just say i wasnt very pleased.

Guys, I just remembered that when you were talking about beer bellies and such. One person once said I looked like a teddy bear because I am so well-fed. I like the idea of me looking like a teddy bear, lol.

i actually think that i am quite a good judge of a person going on there voice. i guess that not having site to rely on means that you adapt to that kind of thing in other ways though. i mean sited people form snap judgements based on appearance, and as a blind person i have just learned to form those same snap judgements in a different way.
i certainly wouldn't claim that i was 100 percent right everytime but i would say that i was pretty good at it.
Oh my gosh I soooooo know where a lot of you guys are coming from on this one! I didn't use to be like this, but ever since i hit like fourteen I've been all, "man he/she sounds hot!" So yeah, I do a lot of that, looking at a voice (ok that didn't make any sense, how can you look at a voice, oh well screw that) and then realizing that the person is either taken, waaaaay too not my type or old, etc. And I know what you mean by the whole audio profile thing....ok there are a couple of people on this website who I think sound hot...not mentioning names, but that doesn't mean I immediately think I want to go out with them. That's not what I'm looking for in a relationship. Man I've gotten so off topic...oh well what can you do?
Well sighted persons judge people by looks and some blind people judge people by the voice. I think voice is better, but it's still not everything of course, character is more important.
No, I don't judge by the sound of the voice. Tone sure, but not for love or anything.
